Anonymous Folles, time of Romanus III, circa 1028-1034. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.45 g, 8 h), a contemporary imitation of a class B anonymous follis from Constantinopolis. Nimbate bust of Christ facing, wearing tunic and pallium, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left. Rev. Cross set on steps with blundered Greek legend to left and right. Cf. SB 1823 (for prototype). Minor corrosion and with light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
